Imagine what we could do

Well done and well said in your editorial in the Sept 2008 issue. It is amazing how we as South Africans are so quick to
see and focus on the negatives in our country. I recently attended a brilliant talk by Prof. Johan Coetzee entitled he Psychology of Inevitability, which certainly changed my perspective on South Africa.

Yes, we have major problems (which can be overcome). It is our attitude in dealing with these problems and our day-to-day lives that makes all the difference. Choose to focus on the positive. A seemingly insignificant thing like a change in attitude can have a big impact. Either get in, and get in properly, or get out. Don't constantly bad mouth the country. Foreigners seem to have far more confidence in our country than we do. Why?

It would be great to see a concerted effort from a lot more media and people with the ability to reach large audiences to inject positivity into our country. It would be even better to start hearing that positivity from everyone in the country. Just imagine what this country could do...
