Game Farms Kloofzicht lodge flies Australian flag during the soccer world cup
The Qantas Socceroos confirmed that they will make Kloofzicht Lodge, situated in the Cradle of Humankind, their base camp for the 2010 Soccer World Cup. The team has booked the lodge exclusively for the duration of the tournament. Australia, who reached the second round at the last World Cup, have been drawn to face three-time champions Germany, Ghana and Serbia in Group D. “We are very pleased to have settled on our plans. It is a terrific venue and allows the players to relax in secure privacy once their daily training and playing commitments are over. There are also some major benefits from being based at Kloofzicht Lodge, the training venue is close, it is at altitude, it is quiet, safe as well as offers quality service combined with great accommodation and conferencing facilities,” said Pim Verbeek, Socceroos Head Coach. “This is a fantastic opportunity for Guvon Hotels & Spas and we are committed to offering the team an unforgettable experience in South Africa” says Leon Bosch, Operations Director. The Socceroos are expected to move into Kloofzicht Lodge about five days before the tournament starts. Kloofzicht Lodge is the flagship property of the Guvon Hotel & Spas Group. Guvon Hotels & Spas also consists of Glenburn Lodge, Bushwillow Tented Camp and Chicama Country Spa – all situated in the scenic Muldersdrift area as well as the four-star Umbhaba Lodge situated in Hazyview and Plumari Lodge in Magaliesburg. The 5 star Fairway Hotel is presently under construction on the Randpark Golf Course and due to open mid 2010.
