Beachfront Apartments at La Mercy

With KwaZulu-Natal's new King Shaka International Airport expected to be completed in June 2010, prime beachfront residential property along the sought after coastal area just north of Durban retains its sound investment potential – now with an added convenience factor, says Peter Pringle, joint area principal for Pam Golding Properties in the Umdloti and Umhlanga areas.
"The growth node of Durban has undoubtedly moved northwards, with proximity to facilities such as Gateway shopping centre and La Lucia Ridge Office Estate playing an important role in home purchase decisions.
Now with the new airport on track attention has focused on the La Mercy area which is between Umhlanga and Ballito, and with this in mind an enterprising developer has brought to the market a very attractive, quality residential development with apartments marketed starting from an affordable R950 000 (no transfer duty) for two bedroom, two bathroom units.

And bear in mind that ultimately vacant land for such prime beachfront property simply runs out," says Pringle. He adds that travel time to Umhlanga is just 10 minutes, Gateway 15 minutes and Durban an easy 25 minute drive.
