MDF is a Milan-based furniture designing and manufacturing company, and with its strong design identity, it plays a leading role in most of the 43 countries it exports to and in the top cities of the world. Finally, Limeline is making the celebrated MDF range available in South Africa. A selection of products ranging from chairs, tables and wall units will be on display at their Cape Town showroom from early 2009, with a wider product range available through custom orders, exclusively through Limeline Architectural and Interior Concepts.

A unique design philosophy
The removal of what is not essential, and the intense search for simplicity has resulted in the creation of functional and visually pleasant products. For MDF, simple is nice.
The end result of MDF's continuous work and research is a dynamic balance between the tension of subtraction and the need to add to products only what is essential to be understood.
Bruno Fattorini is the company’s designer and art director. Research and project development revolve around him: materials, forms, lines and atmospheres find their origin there.
The neutrality of aluminium, the brightness of white, the use of colour, the combination of soft and sharp shapes give rise to different solutions of strong impact. Rigour, method and cultural simplicity together with the continuous and intelligent strive for newness have always characterized the creativity of Bruno Fattorini and his successful collection.
Award-winning design
 MDF has won several product awards and received numerous recognitions over the years, which are evidence of the success of the brand. It also confirms that MDF's products live close to their hearts, and with discretion.
Several new designers have been working with MDF Italia since 2000, with regards to the creation as well as the development of new concepts and designs. Among those designers are: Xavier Lust, Neuland, Robin Rizzini, Francesco Bettoni, Piergiorgio Cazzaniga, Donato D’Urbino & Lomazzi, James Irvine, Ludovica e Roberto Palomba, Massimo Mariani, Soda, Cory Grosser and Andrei Munteanu.
One of MDF's most exclusive products to date is probably the "Lofty chair”. Its a very unique and desirable product, with a limited production of only 50 units per year. Made from polished stainless steel or with self-supporting structure in baydur and polyurethane, it comes with a steel seating, which involves an extremely complicated manufacturing method.
