New second life range makes all other stone green with envy!
Second.Life is a new eco range of recycled quartz stone from Cannata who are local leaders in bespoke stone, marble and granite supply, manufacturing and installation.
Cannata are launching this unique eco range of engineered stone in accordance with the public and industry’s demand for environmentally responsible products.
Focusing on their environmental and social responsibility is Cannata’s chief priority when processing this product. This goal is achieved in all aspects of Second.Life manufacturing, from the physical content of the stone, to the stringent eco-conscience factory and warehouse systems and operations to the factory working conditions and genuine investment in training of highly skilled craftsmen.
The content of Second.Life is 95% recycled, re-integrating materials that in the past have had different forms or applications and producing a completely unique engineered stone.
How is Second.Life manufactured?
Second.Life is made up of recycled quartz (recycled quartz is the unused content that would ordinarily be discarded from granite quarries).
The aesthetic beauty of this product is not compromised at all during the manufacturing process. These unused materials are incorporated using the very latest technology whilst processing into the final product is overseen in the Cannata factory, rendering a finished product with seamless joins and edges of superior quality.
Quality Control
To ensure the essence of eco-friendly manufacturing is maintained at its highest levels, the product is analysed on a quarterly basis.
The Second.Life range is GREENGUARD certified, NSF certified and a member of the Green Building Council. It also meets several requirements of the LEED building system (Leadership in energy and environmental design).
Second.Life Applications
The Second.Life range can be used on kitchen counter tops, bathroom vanities and wall cladding as well as floor tiling in both residential and commercial projects. Second.Life comes in three finishes namely polished, honed and a brushed finish.
Colour options include:

Cannata’s Ongoing Eco Commitment
After 100 years of business, Cannata still adapts to the environment and consumer requirements and works continuously on maintaining the highest level of service in the industry.
Cannata’s new factory has been designed to contribute to sustainable development by means of their own onsite water recycling plant whilst by-product and wastage is kept to negligible levels.
Second.Life will be launched at Cape Town Decorex at the end of April.
