I hate running around looking at properties during the weekend, only to be disappointed by houses that do not match their descriptions. How can I identify a good property website from a pretender? |

First time home buyer 01/03/2007
I’ve applied to my bank for a bond as a first time home buyer and was shocked and humbled by what I can qualify for based on my earnings – R260 000. I can’t even buy a flat in the Northern or Southern suburbs, as property seems to start at around R400 000. Are there any other avenues to try? What about the government? I don’t have anyone to co-sponsor the bond. |

Fractional title ownership 01/03/2007
I see fractional title ownership is taking off at quite a rate and hear that it’s property’s next boom. I would like to know how this sort of thing gets managed. I understand that you get a few weeks per year to stay in the property you co-own; however, when you are not there, it gets rented out. If this is the case, will I get taxed? What happens if I emigrate and decide to keep the property – how will tax affect me then? | |
